Sunset into Night

We drove up over Skyline Blvd. the night before the upcoming lunar eclipse was to occur. In order to try to get a few shots of the stars because the forecast was for clear skies. My attempts were perhaps a bit in vain. Because the full moon was so bright that my attempts to capture any good images of the stars were to no avail. So I just took what nature and the weather gave me and tried to make the best of things.

Here are some images of the sunset on the day of the eclipse, then some images of the night sky and the Full Moon taken the day before the eclipse.

The sunset was beautiful. But the clouds covered the sky, and the eclipse was just a blurry light in the sky. So, unfortunately, no images of that event.

I took the following images the night before the forecast lunar eclipse. My main reason for venturing to this location BEFORE the eclipse is that clear skies were forecast on that night. So, I just took advantage of the weather being in my favor that night and happily clicked away with my camera.

This Moon shot was taken with my 55-200mm zoom lens.
